Battery drain on effects pedals

Sign in to disble this ad
My question is specifically about the Behringer BLE100 Bass Limiter Enhancer, but I assume the same concept applies to other battery-powered pedals. I've had a battery run out very quickly. When does batter power drain from a pedal like this? Is it:

1. When something is plugged into the input?
2. When something is plugged into the output?
3. When something is plugged into both?
4. Only when the effect is engaged?

Number 4 would make the most sense to me, but I'm pretty sure mine went dry when it was just plugged in but not "on." Anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks.

Most effects engage the battery when a cable is plug into the input jack.

I just read the back side of the pedal, which says, "To extend the battery life, make sure to disconnect the plug from the input jack when the unit is not in use."

Thanks. I need to learn how to follow instructions.

If you're concern about battery drainage on your pedal, an ac adapter would fix that up. I personally would recommend the visual sounds 1-spot ac adapter. it's usable on pedals that are powered with 9-volt batteries. including behringer.
