BB + LS2 + VT

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been playing forever but never used effects until the VT bass came out - now mine is always on. Never liked the VT's OD sounds - I use it as a tone shaper. I scored a BB preamp for Xmas, and am thinking about running it through an LS2 for clean signal mix, then into the VT.

As I'm unfamiliar with pedal usage, I'm curious if anybody has experience/input re this signal chain. BB>LS2>VT>amp
Thanks

I own all the pedals you mentioned, but I've only run BB>VT. No need to use a clean blend on the BB, in my opinion. Sounds very good.

I actually really only use my BB as a tone shaper. It is called a 'Preamp', but most use it as an OD, which is why I bought it, but the way I have it set these days, it's just a tone shaping preamp with a touch of compression. It can really rage as an OD if you want, and as said above it does NOT need a blend. It not only does not lose lows, it can boost lows quite a bit if you want it to.

Never used a VT...but it works great with my S...VT...

Thanks to all for some really good info. I find the BB has great low-end retention but it does lose some of the midrange 'complexity' of my clean signal (which believe me, isn't too clean anyway).

P-bass, rotosound nickel rounds - my mids are precious to me, and I seek to color my sound with some 'natural' OD, so I'm still leaning to a blended signal. But I do think the BB is great fit for my needs ultimately.
