I am looking into getting this rackmount. Does anyone own or have any knowledge of them? What is its main purpose? I see that it has control over contour. Does it really matter if you are playing though a PA...with subs

Equipment
Ampeg B2R
Ampeg 4-12
Ibanez SRX 500

Style
Rock/alternative

I have one and don't use it any longer. It's biggest advantage IMO, it that is can make a marginal cabinet sound fatter and cleaner due to the manner in which it processes the signal. It's also very useful on the PA in the summing stage. It can really bring a room to life if it's a dead space. We used it more for that than anything else.

My 2 cents.

Totally agreed. I had one for a while and eventually took it out. My take...it sounds great at the music store when patched into a $200 Hartke, but when you hook it into a high end tube preamp matched to a pair of already full-sounding cabinets, it's not going do much in the way of adding value.

I have used one in my rack for a couple of years, but now I'm using my Aphex Bass Xciter instead. It sounds fatter and more natural. The 362 isn't a bad unit, it's just a little finicky, and you really have to be careful not to go too far on the controls. If you do, it ends up sounding really artificial.
