Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Folks,
The thread about going axe --> cable --> amp has got me thinking about how a little compression could help out my tone.
The BBE Opto Stomp or Orange Squash, sounds like exactly the amount of compression that I need (at the right price and level of complexity). Can users comment on this dingus; and only first hand users please reply?
Thanks,
Bill
PS - I've seen quite a few reviews but I'd like to round out my research.

If all I want is to even out the dynamics a little, so it's barely noticeable live, but also helps prevent clipping when recording to my Firebox, then is the opti stomp the preferred way to go? I play blues/country/jazz standards on passive 4 string (Villex pups). What say you?

| | | | +1, I have the Opto Stomp and it is great for evening out dynamics, smoothing out my overall sound, and even boosting volume a little to get a little more volume before distortion out of my amp. |

By the way, OP, the A-Twin pretty much always gets pushed to a not unpleasant OD when I use it with bass, so I'm thinking there's not enough headroom.
I love my Opto Stomp though. Very transparent sounding to my ears. |
