BBE Opto Stomp settings

What is everyone's favorite settings on this box?

Not that it's very complicated, just 2 knobs, but was just wondering.

Also what use is the -15db switch? Why would anybody want to go down -15db? In case of an active bass?

15db, yes.

I think the thread title should be "Opto Stomp, Optimum Settings"

I curently run VOlume at 5 or 6 and comp at 4 I think. Nothing too heavy. But I think I run the settings different DI vs. Live.

Depending on the gig I will change the comp settings and adjust the volume for unity gain. For jazz or old school stuff the comp will be as high as 7, for rock and pop more like between 4 and 5. I use it to smoooth out the edges and also to keep things in line when I slap.

I run the comp about 2 o'clock and volume around 4 o'clock mostly, but it seems to require adjustment any time I change instruments.

I set both knobs at roughly 3 o'clock, and though I play an active bass I don't pad to -15db.

volume around 1 or 2 o'clock, and compression aroud 2 or 3 o'clock. i plug it before the tech 21 VTbass, and when i use my Bongo, if i not engage the -15 dB switch, the sound clips hard.

Both comp & volume at ~ 1:30 - 2:00. I really need to kick the comp up to 3:00 just to see what happens.

We don't need no steenkin' -15 db switch! Overall, a great compressor and surefire cure-all for the compulsive knob tweakers.
