BBe optostomp not working???

Sign in to disble this ad
Ive owned a dod milkbox prior to my recently purchased optostomp. Due to all the good reviews, I went to a guitarshop to try the optostomp through a crappy ibanez and I was quite pleased with its function. I decided to order one online.

After 2weeks of wait, it has finally arrived at my door steps. So I quickly plugged it in and fiddle with it. After 10mins of fiddling with it, I CANT get it to work!

I mean yeah, the blue led lights up when I step on it but even at a high compression setting, this thing doesnt smoothen my transition from fingerstyle to slap!(???). I have heard about different pedals working better with different level of inputs, so i tried turning down my bass volume but its still the same result.

I know optostomp is supposed to be subtle, but I know what a compressor is supposed to do. And this optostomp of mine is not doing wad its paid to do. Ideas?

Send it back if you're not happy. I have an Opto-Stomp, and I can tell a difference when it's on and when it's not. For sure, you should be able to tell slapping.

its officially not working. With MAX compression setting, I tried this - playing a constant single note with varying strength, from plucking it really lightly then constantly increasing the strength. I hear ZERO compression.

I have sent a message to the seller, lets see what he have to say. btw, i got it from ubuycheap on ebay.

Yeah these are solid pedals. I had one a couple of years ago and never had problems.

I am no audiophile, but I have mine set with both knobs at noon and pad switch off and I can hear the difference when it's on. That's with both an active and passive bass. I say refund.
