BBE pedal repair?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a sonic stomp that I've used for years and really like. It's suddenly gone dead on me. I looked inside and saw....the inside of the pedal. I have no idea what I'm looking at. Does BBE repair pedals? Anybody dealt with their customer service? Is it worth going through the hassle or just easier to buy a new one? Thanks

I have no idea if BBE repairs their pedals, but the best people to ask would be... BBE. Only they can tell you how much it would cost, which would be the deciding factor of whether to just buy a new one. Also, while i haven't opened up a Sonic Stomp, I have opened up a few other BBE pedals and they were all regular-size through-hole components, very easy for any tech to work on. So if you have a friend who's handy with a soldering iron, they might be able to fix it.

A year or two back, I had a BBE Mind Bender go strange on me, so I called the company number in the manual. After a few transfers, I spoke to someone in their music instrument shop who was perfectly helpful and courteous. I related my pedal issue, and he said they would either service the pedal or send me a new unit. He gave me a return service number to put on the package. I sent the Mind Bender to BBE, and, 2-3 weeks later, I received a brand new unit free of charge. I only paid for the one way shipping on my end. Pretty damn good customer service in my opinion, and the new Mind Bender has not had any issues.
