| Honestly, I feel the best way to use a sonic maximizer is to turn it off. I've tried one two different times, thinking maybe the first time was a fluke, and it's just is a tone sucking monster.
When used on a bass rig, I think it sounds great solo, but when you try to put it in a band mix, it just completely makes the bass disappear. It seems to suck all the mids out, and exagerrate highs and lows. I know there are people that love theirs, but it just didn't work for me. I think if I had to use one, I'd definitely go with the poster who said to use fairly low settings. |
