BBM and vt bass

Sign in to disble this ad
my vt bass is always on and while gigging i always go DI to the board. putting the BBM before and after gives me different sounds but i dont really know which one i like more.

what makes more sense? preamp before or after the fuzz?
also at times i want to use the dry out from the BBM but if the vt is after i can only have my vt tone on one channel, something i dont really want at all. but vt after the fuzz helps me cut throught better with the fuzz on.
what ya think??

Why would you want to use the dry out of the bbm? I't is just the clean bypassed signal and the only real uses it has is to record both a clean signal and a dirty signal or to blend them together using a blender. If you want to blend them together you can put the vt after the blend and it will still effect both.

Usually you put the vt bass after your dirt pedals (as it is a preamp/amp modeler) so that will make more sense.

btw. Did you mean using the dry out of the bbm as in using two amps one with the dirty signal and the other with the dry signal because in that case you do have a problem if you want both signals effected by the vt bass. In that case I would put the vt bass in front of the bbm or after the dry output.

on second thoughts dry out is not really a workable idea for gigs, for i'd have only one amp on stage.

You can run it into the effects return on your amp if you really want it to be there at all times.
