BDDI directly to soundboard

Right, I'm gonna play a gig soon, and I don't think my amp's gonna cut it... So I'll use my sansamp bddi into the board, quick question though:

should i run it from the normal outputs (with tweaked tone) or from the parallel output (dry tone from bass)? anything else to watch out for when di'ing in general?

(we're gonna set up the gig ourselves and no one of us know anything about this kinda stuff really)

Generally the way you would connect is through the XLR output using a mic cable.

If what you're connecting to has an input for an instrument cable, you want to use the normal output if you want the BDDI to modify your tone, and the parallel if you want the tone to be purely your bass'.

I see no reason to use the parallel output, because you could just turn the unit off and use it as a true bypass if you don't want it modifying your tone. And if the soundboard does have an input for an instrument cable, you could just plug directly into it.

What you could do is run the effected signal to the soundboard and run the unaffected (parallel) to an amp to help hear yourself on stage better - or the opposite.

yeah, that's what i'm gonna do probably.. or almost. the bddi has two normal outputs, one XLR and one normal plug, as well as the parallell. so i guess i'll go xlr to board and the other to my amp for stage monitoring.
