Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the BDDI with active basses. I use a Spector Legend Classic 4 string. Thanks guys.

Don't know if it counts, but I use actives with a PBDDI with no problems. As noted in the manual, hotter instruments will "increase the gain structure". What problems are you experiencing?

I have Sansamp BDDI - the programmable one, and it is having problems with the output of my bass (Peavey Cirrus 5 - USA). Cirrus has a really hi output (18 volt active pre & pick ups). I have to turn the volume down by 50% if I want a clean sound from the BDDI. For the OD sounds I can go a bit higher, but not all the way, otherwise it turns into distortion

There should be an attenuator on the pedal for hi-output basses!

I am just researching. I was checking these out when someone told me they have problems with high output pickups.

and to D(r)umbass: You say your Peavey is 18 volt. My spector is only 9 volt. have you tried with 9volt pickups?

There's no problem with the volume on the pedal being lower. The end result is the same... If you're not getting a clean sound then turn down the gain. Gain level comes before Volume level.

Been running mine with my Stingray an G&L Tribute L-2500 for ages now, had no problems whatsoever. The output from those basses isn't massive though.

Recorded with it a few times, not noticed anything untoward.

I did try with the Ibanez sr300dx (9 volt) and there was no problemo.

I have the gain on the pedal turned all the way down, but I still have to turn the volume on the bass half way down to avoid the ''farting'' of the pedal...
