I'm fairly new to effects, other than reverb and chorus that I've been using for years.
It sounds to me like a keyboard bass, but I may be wrong there.
Thanks

My personal opinion though..........some songs that were sequenced heavily should be left alone or if you do try to cover it, try it with a different twist. I was in a band once and the leader wanted to do all sorts of songs that were heavily sequenced and he wanted it to sound exactly the same! Uhhh.......sorry, not gonna happen!

This is for a new band that I'm hoping to be doing lots of gigs with. It's be nice to turn up and be able to play something that 'sounds' something like the record. Or at least captures the 'vibe' of the original.
Thanks for everyones replies, much appreciated !

The cheaper route would be the SYB-5 or Behringer copy; I haven't used one but the PWM or Saw mode would get close if it also has envelope control- tracking may be an issue for the busier parts. The Akai Deep Impact would probably do it with ease as well, but that's obviously another expensive option. |

If you kinda leave the wah half-cocked it works pretty well. Not exactly the original, but sounds pretty decent. And I believe that the intro bit would require a 5-string or detuned, but you can just play the C on the A-string.

Watch the bassist's hands--he matches up with some of the licks, but not all--and some moments he's way off. |

This is from the album that began the Brothers Gibb period of recording in Miami as opposed to Britain. Nights on Broadway was also on this record which was a Top 40 'come back' lp for them.
I wouldn't doubt there were Miami session folks on this too. I'm guessing synth on the recording, but I would think some of the guys here could get close to that sound vibe with some pedal suggestions. |

Some nights I didn't even do that.
