So, I sold my POD and bought the first single pedal of many (or several at the least), the Boss ML-2 Metal Core distortion. I love it, super smooth with lots of power and attack. I also bought a 1-Spot power supply. I definitely want a compressor, and I really like the sound Dan Briggs has (Between The Buried And Me). I'm pretty sure he just uses the compressor on his Sunn 300 (like the Fender) which is a dual band. That sound and the lowest amount of noise possible are what I'm looking for. I'm also looking into a pedal tuner, but other than that am unsure if I need anything else (aside from a pedal board).

So, recommendations would be awesome of you! Thanks.

Sounds like a good start, but if you get a board, leave room for expansion. There's little hope of keeping it down to just "a few", once you start down this path.

sounds like a good start into the world of effects.
if i may recommend some effects, i would defiantly say to get a chorus pedal of some sort.
i really like my boss ceb-3, but im sure there are better ones.
also i find delay to be really fun, but thats just me.
and +1 on getting a big enough pedalboard to expand with, im glad i did, because i have gone in out of effects. ive gone from like 10 pedals, to 5, back to 10 and around again. so you never know where you GAS will take you.

have fun with your effect adventure!

Well, you don't need anything else, but you might want a whole bunch more. I suggest you stop reading the effects forum as soon as you're happy with your sound

It's all a matter of taste, but it's best not to think too hard about gear or you'll GAS something fierce.

+1... I currently have more pedals around my board than on it

Time for an upgrade....

I was perfectly content with my me-50b but, jus tout of the blue I decided to get individual effects for no good reason. Of course now I love it for some reason.

My favorite effect was delay, so started with that, then a flanger because I wanted something that kept my signal the same just altered the basic sound (modulation is that called?). Then I got x pedal because it's cheap but good, then a filter because I need to be more funky, etc.

A never ending road

I hope to have a live video in the next week or so.

So, any compressor recommendations?

I had a couple of Aphex Punch Factories, back in the day. I really didn't need em with the OD->Fuzz setup I had (much like my current), but alone they were wonderful. And transparent. Very transparent.

Compressor? Check Bongo's reviews if you want comprehensive information. My recommendation? Demeter Compulator.

I want to see Metal Core demo vid! I used to own one back when I was a guitard. It never occured to me that it might sound good on bass.
