Hi. Bought a bdi21 the other day 2nd hand and it works fine with batteries but with a replacement power supply dedicated for it , it doesn't work. Any easy way to fix this ? Thanks |

Not exactly a fix, but it should work.

| | | | This is a known issue w/the Sansamp copy series. You hook up a power supply w/greater than 100mA power, and it no longer works with a battery, and vice versa, stuff like that.
Mine only works with a power supply, same happened to me GDI21, but somehow now it only works with the battery clips, so I just hook up a power supply to that.
These are really only valuable bought new, because they partially break so easily. |

I'm Gunna use it to warm my tone up a bit so it will be in constant use hence the lack of battery appeal. I will give the 1 spot adapter a crack. I could take it apart and have a look but I'm ham fisted and likely to destroy it! |

| | | | I had this very problem. It worked last time I used it, then I reworked my rig and went to plug it in and it was dead except if I used battery. Just to kill time and tinker a bit, I did a lot of troubleshooting. the input jack is fine, solder connections are fine. What I think, and I could well be wrong, is that there is a protection device that has failed between the adapter input and the battery input. Just a guess because my troubleshooting without schematics is not particularly good.
However, I chose to do a hardware mod and hardwired the terminals of the power adapter jack to the battery terminals on the board. Works as intended again, though now the safety feature isolating the jack input and battery input is now disabled. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
