a guitar store near me has one on sale for $20 seems like a good price.

what does a limiter/enhancer do?

seems to me from the research i did it is something like a compressor, but i'm not sure

i'm just looking for some opinions on this to help me make up my mind

it worked great for a 30$ limiter, i played three gigs with it, it does the job.
but then i dunno, i got a few more effects and i noticed that this behringer was humming buzzing quite bad. so i left it alone. a few days back i tried it again and its still there...... i tried using it alone, tried a different power supply for it, tried powering it up with a battery! nothing helped
anyone knows what might have caused this? or how i can fix it?

Maybe a bad ground? If you open it up and see any obvious loose, bent, or broken bit, then see about reattaching it. If you don't see anything, then remember a repair shop will charge you more to fix it than it cost you to buy.
