Question Behringer MDX2200 Good or Bad?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've looked through the forums to try and find an answer to my question, but could not find anything pertaining to the Behringer MDX2200. If there is already a thread about this unit, then please, accept my apologies. Anyways, I have been thinking about adding a compressor to my rack rig and am on a very limited budget. I have run across a MDX2200 for a sweet deal, but I do not know if it would be worth it. I already have a Behringer BTR 2000 tuner, and I am not very inpressed with its tracking ability, especially on the B-string.

My question is this, Would you recommend the Behringer MDX2200 Composer Pro for a live rig? Any input would greatly be appreciated.

If you are looking for a compressor, the Alesis 3630 Dual Channel Compressor is a decent unit and costs the same as that Behringer. It also has a noise gate. A friend of mine in Tempe has been using one in his PA rack for many many years and has run bass guitars, guitars, pre-recorded music, microphone, and all manner of other audio sources through it.

Just someone Behringer bashing, tis all.

I used a Behringer Autocom for a few years and served me well. Quite transparent, quiet and no noticeable roll off. Only reason I don't use it anymore is I don't want to lug a rack around any more. If I do ever go rack again I'm sure I'll use it again.

(In fact I'm considering racking it with my LMII head.)
