Behringer MDX2600 Noise Hum?

Sign in to disble this ad
Noob here. I recently purchased an MDX2600. I'm experiencing a pretty wicked line hum, especially when connecting bass directly to compressor and then to bass head. Using my amp head's effects loop yields some of this hum also, but not as much. I also get this hum using the 2600 with my PA (instead of head). In an attempt to isolate the problem, I've also tried different input instruments, cables, etc., and all yield this hum. This hum cannot be alleviated with the gate. Also, it is different from the the low hiss you typically receive with high ouput. In fact, I can hear this hiss as well, and the gate can remove it. However the hum remains. This happens on both channels of the 2600. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Do I have a defective unit? Is there something I'm missing? Thanks!

I'm running everthing through a power conditioner, which indicates good ground, and is supposed to filter for AC line noise. Also, I've tried a totally separate circuit in my house, and the noise still remains.

To be honest with you, that unit was my first and only experience with Berhinger. I found it to do absolutely nothing it was suppose to do , except hiss. I guess you could upgrade your cables or something. I ended up selling mine................quickly.

hehe. Yea, could be the case. I've read many positive reviews, but I've read one that is similar to the problem I'm having. I think Behringer quality might be a bit inconsistent. I may try another to see if it works better. Thanks!
