Hello TB,
Has anyone bought one the the pedal packs the Behringer offers? I currently have a Digitech BP-80 (complicated and cheaply made) and want to expand further into the pedal world but don't want to spend tons of money on expensive pedals. I have seen many times that most think the Behringer products are inferior but think this maybe an inexpensive start to individual pedals. I just saw the 3 packs they offer and wonder if anyone has bought one yet?
Thanks!

Really all you'd achieve is having fewer effects, in the same construction quality as the Digitech. |

You may have the same shoddy construction (and perhaps adding on tarnished ethics) as your BP-80, but if a multi is more complex than you'd like and you'd like to try individual pedals on the cheap this could be your ticket.
The Behringers are clones, so you'd have the SAME effects of the boxes with different names, and you'd get to see if you like them.
I had a Behringer delay that I liked very much before I expanded towards other options. YMMV.

If you buy your Behringer pedals at a store that has a return policy....and you don't like them....just return them for your money back. No harm, no foul.

I'm not concern about losing all the other effects. I only use the BP-80 for the compression, noise gate and the pedal as a volume pedal. So I want to try to set up the individual pedals similar to this. But I saw the 3 pack of pedals along with being able to mix and match on ebay for 4 or 6 pedals to at least start the process.
Thanks for the feedback!!

Some sound passable but will break (not might, will!). Others sound appalling and will break! If you get them you will end up replacing them with better effects so, given you already know what types of pedal you want, I'd suggest buying just one or two for now and the third when you can afford to. You could always keep the Digitech for any effects you haven't been able to buy yet. It will be cheaper for you in the long run, I promise! |

But not most pedals.
Construction is ok, despite the plastic. But just ok. Switches don't inspire trust in me, but they're cheap enough that if it goes wrong you could probably just buy another. I detest the battery system... but then I use a power pack always.
However... I've bought many Behringer pedals as a way to cheaply try various FX... and everytime I've ended up selling them quite soon and buying something else more expensive that actually sounded good for me. So it may be a false economy. I must admit I haven't tried chorus, phaser, flanger or delay pedals.
I owned various overdrive and distortion pedals, both guitar and bass. The TO800 overdrive was ok for guitar... but no more than ok. Others were awful. Synth and filter pedals were uninspiring.
I still have the BEQ700 equaliser, because I figured it could come handy. However it's getting noisy fast (sliders... I haven't tried contact cleaner on them yet... but they started getting noisy very soon). I have still also the PB100 booster. Handy little pedal, it's actually nice, but it does add some noticeable hiss unless you cut treble a bit... but for bass it works well.
