There are more than a few threads discussing the merits (or flaws) of these pedals. Basic consensus: they sound good as long as you don't have to use them. On a more serious note, I do have a small Behringher headphone amp for my home studio and I must admit it works well for what I want it to do.

Bull. I have had a Behringer BSY-600 on my board for over a year, and I am a regularly gigging bassist. And there are two other Behringers (CC-300 and BDI-21) that I've had on my gigging board at various times. None of them has ever failed on me, not once. They sound fine, as they are basically straight clones of other pedals (mostly Boss), but plastic instead of metal, so they can put them out at 1/4 the price.

The stomp mechanism is not as fragile as it looks. The one thing that I will say IS fragile, and that you should watch out for is the jacks. They are plastic, and they are board-mounted, so handle them with care. And don't stomp around like a friggin Clydesdale.

i have one of the phasers the metal case ones like the EHX one

the pot is weak and easily moved........ but i just put a small bit of rubber (pencil eraser) in the underside of the knob and its nice and tight with just enough resistance to be usable witout being stiff or damage the pot. phaser is great and i prefer it to the ones in my pods.

i also have one of the plastic bass distortions........ not a good pedal, it is not true bypass (not expected at that price but still) so you can still hear the distortion in the background even when the pedal is switched off. and it sounds very 80's digital distortion too not a good thing to have in a pedal i can tell you

i have a behringer amp too and that is fine, i tend not to use the pre amp though and just use the FX loop in to plug my pod X3 in as a pre amp

i love the price of behringer gear, yes at that price you get more than a few donkeys in the stable. BUT they do do the job when not abused.

I have a Behringer CC-300 chorus pedal. It's basically a Bass DC-2 clone. Sounds good, real analog (I think), pretty cheap build quality. I actually don't use it that much.

I don't feel bad since Boss doesn't make the original design any more, and the used Boss units cost a fortune.

I don't mind the sound of the Behringer pedals but didn't like the way they feel. The ones I've tried and the one I owned all felt really cheap and fragile. I wouldn't have relied on it at a gig.

I returned it after about 48 hours.

I use the Behringer DR100 digital reverb all the time. I like it BETTER than the Boss pedal it emulates, and I've had it for 3+ years. I also have used a BDI21 quite a bit. Neither one had noise problems, neither has ever felt anything but solid, neither ever has missed a beat.

OTOH, I don't pound or abuse my equipment. If I did that, I would expect anything to fail - that's why I don't do it. I practice and gig with my Behringer pedals and neither has let me down.

If you play surf, I highly recommend the DR100 as an inexpensive reverb pedal. I don't know why more bass players don't use reverb - it fills out the sound.
