Behringer V-Amp Bass Pro. Sound quality = Original Bass Pod or Bass Pod XT?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Guys,
I know, I know I said the "B" word, but I've tried several of the multi effects out there and never tried the Bass V-Amp Pro. Any users out there wan to chime in? How is the sound quality compared to say the Bass Pod XT's is it more like the 1st generation of Pod's? It's certainly seems the layout is quite similar.
I have a bunch of MF gift certificates and can't think of anything to use them on.

Go to the Memorial Day Sale. You'll think of something.

Funny, I didn't think that the GC stores carried that unit.

I've heard people say that the Bass Pro (which shows up for slightly over a hundred bucks as new/refurb at MF periodically) is adequate and comparable to the POD, except for some battery life problems with your stored presets, assuming the device doesn't fail for some other reason, which some do. [shrug] If they work, at around $100 it'd be an interesting toy, but at typical fixed retail store price ($169, IIRC) I wouldn't buy this rig.

I've never personally used one. For recording I'm using VST plugins on bass DI tracks. I don't reflexively hate Behringer stuff, but I don't think I'd risk gigging with it.
