Behringer V-AMP PRO crapping out

Sign in to disble this ad
I was wondering if any bass v-amp pro users have had trouble with it powering off and on while playing. I run my Vamp pro through my ashdown superfly. I have an avatar 2x10 and a Basson 4x10 cab. For live gigs I also use an XLR cable from the behringer to the snake and then to the board. Saturday night while playing out, my behringer just cut out and came back on 3 times. This has also happened in our practice studio once. I cannot pinpoint the cause because it seems to happen under different conditions. The weird thing is the first time it happened saturday night was when the sound guy turned on the 3 amps that power the mains and subs. The amps are also connected to the snake. Could there be any connection between the PA amps and the behringer while in the snake?
PS -Please save your Anti-Behringer comments. I'm well aware of their rep, but it was working fine for quite some time.

I can't help you with the problem, but I can offer a solution - get your local behringer guy to look at it. If he can't fix it, you'll get a newie for free. My virtualizer pro stopped powering up at all so the guy ordered me a brand new one, hasn't let me down once. Out of interest, what's the v-amp like? I'm thinking of getting one soon.

Well, I do like the ability to select different cabs and different amp models. I don't really use the effects much except chorus and stereo chorus. The tuner works well enough. I would have preferred the line 6 basspod pro but the behringer fit the budget. All in all its been reliable but I have not heard that Behringer will replace the V-AMP for free

They won't say they'll replace it, but if the the tech guy can't fix it pretty well straight away he'll replace it
