Sign in to disble this ad
Heyy just wondering what you guys use? What do you think is best? I'm building a pro pedal board and not too sure about the octaver and flanger. currently i am looking at the EBS octabass and i have a boss flanger, but not too happy with it, the boss stuff is really hopeless and im not too sure about a flanger thoughh.

edit: whats the EHX hog like with bass, it just seems awesome in the videos.

Everything is subjective. I use a POG for octave because of the tracking and synthy/organ sounds it makes. I use an MXR Flanger usually. I have a Boss BF3 and Guyatone flanger and both are good, I just prefer the MXR for most stuff.

I use the ever so infamous OC-2, and enjoy it.

I read lots of articles in BP Mag about players' gear, and the octave they almost always have is the OC-2.

I just ordered a MicroPOG. I like the Sub-Octave and Octave UP feature.

The DOD FX72 Stereo Bass Flanger is my favorite flanger ever. Its thick and warm.

They aren't made anymore, but they sell on ebay for like fifty bucks.

"Best" isn't nearly as helpful as what you want out of these pedals or why what you've currently got isn't cutting it.

My current choice of octaver is the OC-2, though I also liked the EBS and am curious about the new MXR. I'm not a huge flanger guy, but I've got an HBE Frost Bite on the way. On the more subtle side, I also liked the George Dennis Chorus Flanger.

If you really want to know my favorites that I've tried, that would be the Mu-Tron Octave Divider and the A/DA Flanger.

you may not be a huge flanger guy, but pretty soon you will possess a pretty huge flanger...

True. How many new versions end up being bigger than the pedal they are based on?
