I am too nervous about desoldering anything inside the pedal. Too Bad because I want to pimp it out. |

All though the jacks are wired to the 3PDT, so if you can pull it off, it should be fairly easy to rewire new jacks to the bigger chassis. |

I have several Star Wars themed etched pedals and want the B3K to join in the Madness. I was even thinking of getting it put into one of those HUGE Hammond Octagon enclosures to match the Darth Vader FuzzPotion. My board has the room and I would have a ton of room for sweet art on the top!
If you don't know, JWAR (jwr on here) does good etching work. |

Honeymoon period obviously, but I'm reeeeally digging it. Much more "amp-like" than most of the overdrives I've used (mostly Tubescreamer variants like the Xotic BB, which I also like a lot). I'll be taking it to band practice tonight- see how it fills out the sound during the guitar solos. |

If you don't know, JWAR (jwr on here) does good etching work. | You wouldn't even need to rehouse it - you could just remove the faceplate and etch the existing enclosure. It would be a lot easier than rehousing, especially since all of the pots and switches are mounted to the PCB. |

Removing the faceplate and etching is an option. I will have to rethink my art. I have a really sweet image of Boba Fett with his blaster drawn that would look so good on the Octagon enclosure.
Thanks for the idea, I'll let you guys know what I decide. |

He got so excited and started talking about running a clean DI from my amp and a dirty line from the pedal. He was more excited than I was when I got the pedal, and that's saying something...LOL
Once again, it sounded terrific last night. I was using it mostly as a boost with just a tad bit of hair. Made a big difference. |

Unless... run from the parallel output on the B7K to the amp? Then the DI from the B7K would be dirty and the amp gets an unaffected signal?
I've been slowly trying out preamps lately, and have recently gotten the itch for a B7K. I love my B3K (and won't get rid of it), so the next logical step for a preamp is a B7K, right? hehehe

5sg. | What you said in the beginning is what most likely the sound guy thought of!
That's pretty much the main use for the Parallel Output jack in a studio scenario .

| | OK. Now I'm biased. Endorsed Artist: Myco Pedals | | Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: Lake Charles, La | | | OK. I just got my third B3K in and the third time IS the charm. Definitely loving it more, this time.
The two different factors: This is my first US version (I doubt there's much difference there) and this is a totally different amp.
On my first go around I had an Eden Nemesis head. The combo just didn't gel together. I dunno. Second time was with a Mesa 400+ and I found the B3K a bit thin....like it REALLY lightened my sound up. This third time is with a Glockenklang Blue Soul and it just sounds amazing. All of the massive low end clarity from the amp with a little coloring from the B3K.
I was a little bit worried about buying it, since the used prices started dropping faster than a Jets QB, but it's staying with me for a while. It won't replace my B-Peg. Totally different beasts. This guy is more modern where the B-Peg is more vintage. It DID beat out an Iron Pig, though. The B-Peg will be battling a Darkglass Vintage, pretty soon, though. We'll see how that goes. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
