So...what's the best bass tremolo under $200? That means no empress, no diamond.

If you can still snag one, the Guyatone VT-X is amazing on bass.

I recently picked up a Dr Scientist Tremolessence v2 and really am enjoying learning it and all of its capabilities.

Check out Fuzzrocious' tremolo, the Tremorslo. You can set two different speed so you don't have to bend over and adjust knobs as often.

FUZZROCIOUS PEDALS

If not, I would also vote the Dr. Scientist as a close second. They always make good stuff.

Yeah I like the Guyatone VT-X too--a tad noisy, but great tone. Bear in mind that even the fancy boutique trems can be found for under $200; I bought a totally killer Robot Factory dual trem for $185 used. Consider the GigFX Chopper as well; those can be found on Ebay for $150 brand new.

Just got an iron ether cygnet that is pretty cool. Bought it on the classifieds here for about $150 I believe. Nifty little pedal. I'm pretty sure they discontinued it though so you would have to buy used.

Yeah, I had one no too long ago. Sold it 'cause I didn't really use tremolo all that much.

It was really good, I'm no authority on trems, but it's a solid little unit with limited flexibility and a good tone. Can often be found for cheap too.

i bought a BOSS PN-2 recently after borrowing one from a friend. i've only used a couple of trem's before this so can't comment on most of those mentioned above, but the PN-2 is fantastic. Really choppy if you want, but also does very subtle. plus if you have two amps, the pan option is mental-fun!

Demeter. You will love it.

Perfect sound and function, easy to use, has that boutique look,
I really like the colors and modular chassis, even the black coating feels great.

I only have used the Demeter. It sounds great, classic tremolo. I sold it though, and will get one of his stereo trems. IMO, tremolo sounds better in stereo in order to get the most wobble oomph.
