Best compression pedal???

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm in the market for a compression pedal. What is the best one for bass and can be used for guitar as well. Are compression pedals made with either instrument in mind or are they pretty much the same for both?

I've never used bass effects before, I usually just go straight into my ampeg... Any ideas?

Did you try searching here in the Effect forum? If you search for best compressor or best compression pedal you should receive back about a day and a half of worthwhile reading.

What is your objective for this? Is it as a subtle control of gain, protection for your speakers (which is doubtful if this is your only pedal), to entice a slippery fretless tone of to punch up your tone?

A lot of different comps have a lot of different uses.

Since you mention it WoodShed, what kind of compressor would help emulate that kind of tone, or change up your punch?
