I know this has probably been done millions of time. But what is the best compressor in pedal form for bass?

I know also that most people will choose super expensive models so please say a more affordable model.

Yes, a million times. Also best rarely equals cheap. Search, and you will find.

Therein lies a contradictory flaw to your question....

You're asking people for what they consider "the best" but you're already dismissing compressors that you haven't even heard anyone say yet.

Perhaps someone's "best" compressor happens to be an expensive one.... you haven't even listed specific brands that you're dismissing OR a price range.

I have a toad works Mr Squishy- it doesn't cut out any low end, color the sound, or add any extra noise (unless you crank the volume). It can take some time to dial it in just right and its easy to overdo it, but the design is straight forward. If you switch basses a lot it probably isnt the one for you because it will need to be readjusted for different instruments. Is it the best? No probably not, but overall not bad for the money.
