I have heard some pretty awesome songs with delayed bass on them and was wondering what the best delay for bass would be?

I have the MXR carbon copy. It's ok, but extremely sensitive. You get slap feedback very easily with the knobs past 12'o'clock. It takes some getting used to. Probably not the most user friendly delay out there, but it does the job. I don't really use delay, but instead got it to fool around with while jamming alone at home. If I was to go back, I would probably shop around and end up with something else. Any Guitard Center has one and the stoner behind the counter will happily let you try it out. Doesn't hurt to start there so you have an idea of where you want to go.

hardwire dl-8. great sound with modulated and analog mode. looping feature is fun as well.

only drawback i can possibly think of is that the tap tempo needs 3 seconds to activate

I just got a CheeseBlocks DigiLogic Delay. Love it. Works very well. Hard to find though.

Another vote for the DL-8. Very versatile, 8 seconds, reasonable price. I kind of miss mine.

Way Huge Aqua Puss!! Sounds amazing, the only drawback is a 300ms max but if you don't have a need for super long delay its a great pedal.

I'm a DL-8 guy, but I'm also a sucker for cheap pedals (Dano) that work great.
I'll be checking-out the Deltalab.

I just googled around a little bit, and it looks like the Deltalab is digital.
Maybe they have an earlier analog model, but I didn't see it in a quick search.

u guys are all wrong.

dls echotap is where its at

preserves your bass tone, delays your bass tone for what it is. doesnt muddy anything up and doesnt sound like poo! well, atleast check it out.

i love my dls. and i guess my dark delays too. AD900 and 600D.

I like my digitech DD-3, but i have messed about with the way huge aqua puss and it sounds really good too. It really depends how much delay you need since some delays like the aqua puss can only go up to 300ms (i think) but others can do longer delay time.
