Question Best Delay for bass?

Hey, Im looking to complete my pedal-board with a good delay pedal.

Currently, (going from instrument to amp) I have:

Jim Dunlop Crybaby Wah >
Boss BF-3 Flanger >
(delay pedal) >
Boss ODB-3 Overdrive / Electro Harmonix Big Muff >
Behringer NR300 noise reducer >
KORG Pitchblack Tuner

If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it!

I have a Boss DD-6 and it works fine for me, but then again I hardly ever use it.

Look at the earthquaker devices delay as I have the small one and that is really nice for how I use it. Would definitely recommend the larger one for more tweaking ability.

I tried a few delays on bass (EHX Memory Toy, Boss RV-3 and DD-7) and found out I ain't delay guy on bass. But reading here, the Boss DD-3 gets a lot of love.

I'd love a Boss DD3 or a fancy analog delay, but I'm using a digitech digital delay and have pretty good luck with it. Tweak it enough and you can get Justin Chancelloresque (basically a Boss delay) sound. I'm sure not all are created equal, but features aside I don't think you'll notice an immense amount of tonal difference from one digital delay to the other...IME

Said it before and I'll say it again.. So far I'm a fan of my Carbon Copy. True, haven't tried other delay pedals.. but I have a song or two that I switch it on with a short slap back delay.

I'm also thinking of getting a new delay. Want to replace my dd 20, maybe with an strymon el capistan. I know the dd 20 is a lot more versatile and the strymon is more like a one trick pony but i tried it once, but just with guitar and really loved it, i didn't find a setting i didn't like.
So how does it work with the bass, anybody here who maybe tried the dd 20 and the strymon?
what do you think?

depends on how are you going to use the delay

if you don't need the tap tempo ability, which means you're just adding some decoration to specific parts of the song (like I do), then a Boss DD series should be sufficient. I use DD-3 myself for this purpose. Even with the DD-7 you can add a tap tempo pedal

Or go with the boutique path with Empress Superdelay and the likes

mxr carbon copy - great analog delay w/modulation, clean, but warms up at longer delay times
earthquaker devices - disaster transport (the big one) - great digital delay w/modulation, very warm
earthquaker devices - dispatch master - great digital delay w/reverb - very clean and clear
strymon timline - digital delay with phrase sampling - expensive and totally worth it if you want as much delay as you can handle

i'm currently using the dispatch master on both boards (treble/bass) and love it.

if you want something simple that sounds great for less than $150 (used) the carbon copy is a great choice.

Gotta go with tc electronics delay . with the tone print and the new editor program you can basicly build anything you want for cheap.

I have the Carbon Copy and I find it very good. I'm going to swap it for an Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master, though, because I want the reverb.
