Best digital delay: specifics

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, there are other threads, and I've done my search, but I'm looking for something specific.

I need a compact (single boss size space) digital delay to act as a bucket for my clean and analog delay tones. I have a yamaha dds100 that was great but is becoming glitchy and cutting out from time to time. I run an aby between the analog delay (two outputs, for spillover) and the digital so I can build up patterns in the clean digital bucket, then click out today clean over it. It's always engaged, but I'm only filling it when I need to.

Needs: independent feedback and volume controls, at least 5 seconds of delay (for short, easily altered samples/loops, using the feedback too control the detail of the sound), and just be small. I'm tempted by the boss dd6 or 7, especially with foot switch and expression capability, but thought if ask here as well. tap tempo would be nice, but not essential. My reference point is Steve Reich, so... Google 'music for 18 musicians' or 'electric counterpoint' if you don't know what orchestral minimalism is.. Your mind will be blown!

Thanks!

Not too pricey, either... cheaper than the DD7 at any rate.
