In my experience, it takes a lot of experimentation to find exactly the filter (or filters) that float your goat. I ended my search with the Enigma, which I love, but it's clearly not for everybody. |

I got mine $120.00 shipped, and it has every filter tone I was looking for and then some. It's also the best filter mimic I've ever tried, so I saved a ton of money by not needing a bunch of other very good but expensive filters. I only wish it had presets!

If I was made of money I'd own every filter- to my ears filters seem to be the most unique type of effect, each one really has it's own way of effecting your sound. As much as I love effects like fuzz, imo they don't vary as much, probably because they don't interact with playing dynamics as much. EDiT: for the record, there is no "best" enveloppe filter, IMO.
