I KNOW there is no answer...that's not the goal of this thread. As you can see, I now have many suggestions for fuzz pedals to try that other bassists playing similar music are using.

Some new recommendation, blackout effector fix'd fuzz deluxe, 2 different type of fuzz, can go from compressed fuzzed to distortion to super hairy fuzz. the filter control even make it better.

Personally I use a blended Pro Co Rat. On its own it is actually pretty bad IMO but at full gain with a parallel dry signal (about 80% dry) it sounds immense!!

My goto pedal is the Wounded paw Battering Ram. The Fuzz + octave is the sound I love so much on that but not really a stoner doom metal sound.

For that I would use my Swollen Pickle or Oxide. But I am itching to get my hands on a Super Collider.

The Swolen Pickle was a perfect gentleman. It offered to pay for dinner and held open all of the doors. It was a fine date, to be sure, just not a good long term fit.

Gnomeratron VTF (Manufactured by talkbass member McSpunkle, who is a great guy, and a pleasure to do business with.)

This thing can do it all. It is my favorite fuzz. And it will give you that huge, distorted, heavy sound you want. It also has an absurd amount of knobs and switches that will let you dial in pretty much any fuzz tone you can imagine. It'd be my "desert island" fuzz. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

A close second would be the Iron Ether Oxide. Others have mentioned it because it is an excellent pedal.

I also own a Malekko Assmaster, a Boss FZ-2, a ZVex Machine (technically not a fuzz, but close enough), and the fuzz section from a Chunk System Brown Dog. The VTF and Oxide are the best I've owned, but I keep the others because they are useful in certain situations and I have three pedal boards to fill.
