What Leslie simulator would be the best to use for bass? I know there's a lot out there, so I don't really know which to get. If someone could help me out that would be great.
I love the Hughes & Kettner Rotosphere. It has a few settings such as:
Fast Rotation
Slow Rotation
Rotation off - you'll still run through the tube so it isn't completely bypassed, allowing you to also have a tube preamp
Bypass Mode
Just looked through all the links. The best in my opinion so far is the Option 5 Destination Rotation...
Tis a good pedal - but suffers from a slight low end loss unless you set the mic distance control real close up, which limits it's tweakability somewhat. But the switchable overdrive circuit really kills the bottom end. I was going to get the maker to mod it for me but ended up selling it, so it may be worth getting in touch with him first!
Boss RT-20. Set the bass up, the, treble at medium, and adjust speed and drive to taste.
I do it quick and greasy with a Digitech Bass Multi-Chorus and an EHX Micro POG, but that's me.
I just bought the RT-20 last week. Best money i've spent so far on a pedal. I'd give up every pedal I have except for the RT-20. And this coming from an organ player that has played MANY organ and leslie clones for over 20 years.
The RT-20 really is awesome. Plus, you get a univibe mode thrown in there, too. I'm not a huge fan of the the overdrive on it, but everything else on it is fantastic.
