Best Multi-Effect board for Headphones/iphone

Sign in to disble this ad
With my Ampeg going Kablooey I have nothing to practice bass through. I live in an apartment so I need headphones. What have you folks found that you can put a ipod/iphone into and jam away on headphones.

Digitech has a couple of cool ones.
The Boss ones look good.
Line 6?

I'd rather not get a head or combo(take up too much space)...I tired a bunch this afternoon. The Ampeg VR is quite sweet. But I need something to give me some flexibility.

What say you?

Don't get me started on the iRig. I loved the first version. The update screwed all kinds of things up on this thing. Bass sounds like crapola. All my guitars were sounding the same...yukko. I am retiring the Amplitube stuff until the next update. I need something that sounds better and is more reliable.

I find it better to practice without any effects or extras. I really get to hear everything that happens with my bass it's self. That being said, the Cafe Walter Headphone Amp is one of the most useful products I have ever bought.

I use a PJB Bass Buddy. It sounds nothing like an Ampeg. I love it. If I were in the market I'd definitely try one of these, http://www.sfxsound.co.uk/mainpage.asp?page=micro_h

Which model? A dig a lot of the you tube videos of the 4. Certainly the right size.

Digitech and line 6 would be good choices for home practice. another good choice would be zoom processors. I have sound samples of the zoom b2.1u and the line 6 bass floor pod on my soundclick website. here's the link.

Feel free to check them out.

PX4D. It has the same sounds as the newer one. I had a bass Pod XT, too. I sold the Pod thanks to the PX4D. I bought mine for something like $50 including the AC adapter.

Most videos of MarloweDK on Youtube were recorded with his PX4D.

Question

Thanks for the advice. There is a Pandora Mini version coming out later this week for under a $100...I think this will suit my needs very well.

I love my Zoom B2....but don't buy any Zoom without double checking, because some of the models (like the B2) don't have an auxillary input for you I pod.

It has a ton of features, many seem useless to a guy wanting to learn tunes... but one feature that is very cool is on-the-fly detuning - so if you have a recording that you want to learn transposed, it will detune a song without slowing/speeding it. Very cool for learning.

Equally, or even more awesome would be if it could slow/speed up songs w/o detuning.

Boss Micro BR.

edit: Loads of effects, MP3 player/trainer-slows and speeds up songs without detuning, tuner, drum machine, 4 track recorder.
