Question The best from my SANSAMP Programmable???

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I purchased a sansamp bass driver programmable last year and have been playing with it for a while although after all the reviews I've read I feel like i'm not getting enough from it. I use it as a stompbox just connected with my other pedals when I play at home and get the sound man to connect it to the PA when I play live. I play with:

Marcus Miller Jazz
Fender Rumble 60w
misc pedals

The bass sounds great just through the rumble without the sansamp. Is there anyway I can bypass the EQ of the rumble and just harness the power of the sansamp on its own? Because i feel the rumble interferes a lot with its sound and I want to be able to get a clear indication of the tone before I play live obviously. Any comments you have on how I can truly get the best from this piece of gear would be greatly appreciated thanks.

You could try running the SA directly into the FX return / power amp in although I'm not sure if your pedal has the necessary ooomph to drive it... can't hurt to try.

I'd be more concerned with how the SA sounds thru the FOH / PA. Any way the soundguy can give you an extra 5" to set the tonal balance? FWIW and like others, I run the blend at ~50% for a more natural response.

It should. The manual gives instructions for doing so. They seem to indicate that one should not be shy about cranking it up, though.
