quite a few Orange Squeezer clones are at the top on my list for bass. You might want to search this section, it's a popular topic/question and has been discussed in detail a few times over.

Make sure you check out the EBS MultiComp. Very popular, compact unit with a couple of unique features.

An enthusiastic +1! I never leave home without mine. Bongomania's reviews helped me in my decision! Bongomania rules!

Ok... I'll play the role of the guy who bought the Demeter Compulator....

a hem.

I tried both after reading a bunch of threads on TB, and of course Mr. Bongomania's reviews. Although I wasn't able to check each one side by side, to me (like some other posters) that the EBS evens out the levels quite well, and is super clear, and leaves your attack in place.

The Demeter has more of an overall squish, rounding out the top and bottom and gives you, to my ears, a real punch to your notes. Which is why I got it, and why I likes it.

Just as a side note, I finally reviewed the EMMA Transmorgrifier, and the short version is that a 4-string slapper who likes crisp highs would be well pleased by that pedal. Full report on my page of course.

I have the Retrospec Squeeze Box, it's a little tricky to set, but it sure does sound good.
