Best Pedal(s) Purchase You Ever Made?

Sign in to disble this ad
Did a search found nothing, I apologize if this has been done before.

Based on value and quality of the pedal overall what is the best pedal purchase you ever made?

For me its between my $20 Boss CE-5 or my Electro Harmonix SMMH

I picked up a used MXR Stereo Chorus with the low frequency bypass feature (newest model) for a steal and it has turned out to be the best Chorus pedal I have owned or tried.... It's on almost all the time now...

Polish Love. Hands down winner there. Absolutely love that pedal. Close second would be my Hjärt Müller. Both overdrives and both likely to stay on my board for a long time to come.

I guess I'll be the first to say it: Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI. It's just so damn useful!

My Korg DT-10 is a close second, though.

Reussenzehn Bass deLuxe (Daniel-D. Tubebooster).

I got it for $100 - it sounds amazing and is very versatile. It should have costed a lot more!

Blue Berry because if I ever get tired of it I can make my money back, possibly adjusted for inflation.

ehx HOG. this pedal has been extremely versatile and has filled the gap left by several other pedals.

'94 Digitech Bass Whammy. Not because I liked the effect but it allowed me this year to sell it and buy an EBS MultiComp as well as a Genz Benz shuttle 3.0 8T. Never thought that would be possible.

Xotic X-Blender. For as long as I've owned it (two years maybe?) I had my doubts about the "value" because there are so many much cheaper blender options, including DIY. But as I've followed the many threads about all of those other blenders over the last couple of years, I've come to realize none of the others are as good as the X-Blender. Everything else on my board comes and goes like mayflies, but the X-Blender stays.

A strong contender would be the Turbo Tuner.

Pearl analog delay, bought new(around $80-$100 IIRC)in the early 80s. Totally got me addicted to delay, which prompted me to grab another great delay, the SMMH- not neccesarily a notable deal, but awesome nonetheless. Lastly, I snagged an Ibanez EM-5(digital)delay- $20, plastic but tweaking the 3 trimpots can give you either a good slapback or longer delays, plus self-oscillation. It's also very analog-sounding(leans slightly towards lo-fi ).

My tuner. My intonation and pitch correcting has gone way up since I bought it. Next up would be my metronome.

Boss LS-2. A tool that save my life a hundred times and give such a great base for experimentation.
Korg AX-1B. 10 years after buying it I still use it daily and it's the one I turn toward whenever I need to sculpt an effect.

Same here. I wish there was a setting to switch between one side fully wet and a blend of both channels though - that would be mega-useful.
