That's the question. I ask because I just picked up the DOD250 and I was surprised that such a cheap pedal had such a nice sound. |

The Dano FAB series isn't bad either. I really enjoy the flanger.
I take it used pedals don't count in this, right? |

I got it when my Carl Martin was in for repairs but I needed a chorus in a pinch (Cure-style '80s revival band). The regular chorus sound is acceptable, but where it really gets cool is when you just go nuts with it and turn the knobs up to 11. Funny story behind it. Basically, a band I was working with and myself met Ikey from the Mars Volta/Look Daggers/De Facto/Free Moral Agents. He came into our practice room briefly and was interested in my pedals. He turned up all the knobs on the Behringer to 11, combined with an envelope filter as I recall, and it got this awesome slightly discordant, way crazy vibrato type sound. It's a unique tone that sometimes is exactly what you need if you're trying to get a certain type of atmospheric noise in addition to a regular bassline for studio stuff. |
