Best phaser for bass

Hello, I'm looking for a good bass phaser. Ideally I'd like it to be one i can find new, but I am open to anything. I definitely want analog.

I like my Pigtronix, and it works pretty well as an envelope filter as well (and a wah if you get the expression pedal...).

It's the only one that side-chains the envelope to an external source.

Heeey.. Does that mean that I could control the envelope with my straight bass, but have the effect actually occur on the signal that emerges from the Comressor+distortion? I can just imagine.

BINGO - give the man a cigar! But it gets even better - split your guitar signal running one through your FX and the other into a regular volume pedal. Voila - you get one of the coolest wah sounds anywhere. It's also neat to use a mic on the trigger-in and pretend you're Peter Frampton . Or micing the kick locks you in with the drums like nothing else. It's over the top!

Both the MXR Phase 90 and Electro-Harmonix Small Stone sound really good. Although I haven't personally played through one, I've also heard good things about the MXR Phase 100 (also Jason Newsted uses one). In my opinion the MXRs have an advantage, because they are built like tanks. The Small Stone seems a bit weaker, but has the added feature of a colour switch, which helps to beef up your tone. The Small Stone is also a fair bit less expensive. Hope this helps!

I think the MXR sounds a little better than the Small Stone, but I'm using a Small Stone right now because my Phase 90 didn't always turn on and off in my pedalboard. I use an old Boss PSM-5 to provide power, and the MXR just didn't like it as much as the EH does. I'm hoping I can adjust the internal trim pot so the EH gets a bit better; if that doesn't work, I may get a Pigtronix.

I'm using a Red Witch Moon Phaser & it works very well with bass & has tons of sounds from Floyd to ???.

I love my maestro...It gives a huge sound (almost as big as the pedal itself), but it also boosts
my signal quite a bit when it hits the low part of the phase cycle...which is pretty cool if your rig can handle it.

I think if you want a phaser that retains your tone and let's the character of your bass shine, the MXR Phase 90 is the best thing going. (And not expensive)

The HomeBrew Electronics (HBE) Psilocybe really impressed me. Retains a lot of low end and sounds great towards the end of the chain. The seafoam green is a bit silly, but there are other colors out there as well.
