When I'm looking to buy a pedal from someplace I take into account their return policy. No matter what a pedal sounds like in sound clips or in the store, unless you're using the exact same gear in the store as you always use, it's going to sound different when you take it home or to your next gig.

A good return policy is necessary when trying out pedals.
