I don't think it's available yet, but looks like it will be $209 on sweetwaters site

The VT might have a more retro/tube grit, but it doesn't have a separate EQ channel.

I loves me some ParaDriver. Got another one on the way to me now to replace the BDDI. This will drive the front end of my GK RB700II. There is something very organic about the Tech21 stuff that other "driver/DI's seem to lack. I was checking out the M80 online and its drive sounds a little too 'toppy' for me. Kind of modern, which isn't a bad thing but I didn't equate it to tube like tone which is what I like. The EBS Valve drive seemed to cop this tone well while the EBS Microbass II seemed to share some of the breakup qualities of the M80. The EBS almost seemed to cop a more "active" tone, if that makes sense.

I think you're right on.

I do the exact same thing. Great tone and happy sound engineers are usually the result.

Edit: I also mic a speaker in my cab whenever possible with a Beta 57.

A big +1 for the 3Leaf Enabler.

Well, I started a thread about Preamp pedals driving a power amp, but no one replied, so I'll jump in here and hang with you guys! I'm using the Tone Hammer into a Crown XTi. I like it. It is pretty full sounding and the para mid is nice. I'm saving up for an [sfx]Sound custom bass preamp pedal, but I am also interested in the VT Deluxe and that AMT sounded pretty good in spite of the guitar set up it was demo'd through. I may try them all...

Well It pretty much never ends.I a gear junkie like the next guy here and always like checking out the latest and greatest. Ive been through several preamp pedals and for the time being am prett happy with it-things I like, things Im not as crazy about. But for my needs its as close as Ive found. That said there are a few more Id like to check out-The Enabler is tops on the list. But for me,the debatable mid sweep is king and probably the only reason I havent jumped on one yet.Waiting on a few more reports.

Had the VT Deluxe for a while.I really liked it to dirty up my tone for certain things(more as an effect I guess)-didnt like it as my main preamp for my IEM setup.

Great thread! I've been using a preamp pedal > power amp rig for jsut about 3 years now. Right now my main pre is the BDDI.

I just took the Hartke Bass Attack for a spin, and was thinking about selling it. After playing with the Shape control thoough, I think it's staying. It's just so cheap, it's hard for me to wrap my head around how good it is. Extremely underrated pre-amp/di pedal.

Yes I have and I use it for everything. Its more on the expensive side of things but well worth the money. Think of a b3k with eq and a DI? it sounds phenomenal! Highly recommended.
