You forgot the DHA VT-1 EQ Bass. I can attest to the Dave Hall preamps sounding absolutely fantastic.

I agree with Munji. Sansamp ParaDriver DI.

Great tone (as does the Sadowsky) but the sweepable mid frequency gives it a leg up, as does the grit you can get with the drive/blend.

It is so much more a "swiss army knife" than the others.

The Hartke??? Please . . . its almost a joke.

I'm going to go ParaDriver as I want to use it with acoustic guitar (bridge piezo) as well.

Thats ok...you can still all continue to be lost until you get your hands on a Hartke . I really like the thing, it just sounds awesome for what I play

I wasn't all that impressed with the VXL either.

Personally, I use the M-80, but I'm sure that the Tone Hammer would kill it.

another vote for the Sansamp Para Driver here. The thing is ridiculous. Works incredibly well with electric bass, double bass, and guitar.

I've heard great thing about the EBS Microbass II which is also missing from the list.

Kromwarp,
I use MXR-80 as well, but I am very interested in linking up with D Hall VT1-EQ Bass di-pre.
I have used my MXR-80 now for 2 years, and it's ok for me, but I know there is something out there (DI-PRE) waiting for me.

Now I was using the Hartke pre DI back about 3 years ago, and I did not like it AT ALL!

I honestly think you should at least cruise on down to your local music instrument shop and have a test drive of the other DI-Pre's you mentioned here.

And I won't knock you because you are diggin' on the Hartke. What ever floats your boat.

Have fun!
