Is there a consensus on what is a better deal: a Rack Mounted reverb or Pedal if variety of effects are the goal? I have room for a rack mount but I had heard that some digital reverb units have some substantial recording clarity issues.
IF you were buying, which one pedal or rack and what brand (cap is $250 for rack), what brand?
Goal is: (1) recording clarity, (2) variation of reverb effects.
Thanks

Extremely high fidelity/clarity, lots of different settings/kinds of reverb. Only reason I don't have mine anymore is because I replaced it with an Eventide Space, which is even better, but also twice as expensive. |

Boss RV-2 Digital Reverb
has an awesome pre-EQ that really gives it versatility along with all its modes. sounds amazing! here is what else I have tried...
EBS Dynaverb
Boss RV-3 Digital Reverb/Delay
Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb
Roland RE-20 Space Echo
EHX Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai
Want to try:
Strymon Blue Sky
I have an El Capistan and it's AMAZING! |

Yet now I'm hearing stuff I haven't known about what-so-ever...... Is the Eventide that good?
My goal is VERY clear ("huge area") reverberation; not a Fender classic spring box. This is via a recorded agenda primarily. Could a pedal match that or come close?

You can also cut the bass frequencies out of the 'verb so that only the mids and highs are effected. |
