Leave Oct 2 all the way off, put direct and Oct 1 at about 3 o'clock. Maybe a little more or less of each to adjust the balance to taste. Even put them both at full for a little bit of a volume boost! Also, for something different try Oct 2 and direct off with Oct 1 maxed for a synth bass sound.

Not me. I think that knob is intended for guitards.

+1

That's pretty much how I use it. I either have all 1oct for synthy stuff or an even blend of dry and 1oct set slightly above unity.

On occasion I'll also go dry full on with just a bit of 1oct (around 10 o'clock or so) just to give lines a bit of thickness - especially on fretless.

Or you could do the same thing I do with all of my pedals - twiddle the knobs until it sounds good; then use that setting.

There's three knobs and they're all Volume. Can't be too hard.

I use just a hair of octave 2. Just barely enough to add but not overpower. I run my oc-2 post q-tron+

i keep the direct and octave 1 both at about 2 o'clock.

i tried a similar setting last night:

octave 2 - 9:00
direct - 9:00
octave 1 - 3:00

playing almost entirely on the D & G strings, octave 2 provided a nice percolating low frequency grumble beneath the notes.
