Best source for Canare Cable + G&H Plugs?

Thanks to all who chimed in on my poll from last night.

I definitely like the idea of making my own soldered cables the best.

I had an idea last night - I have a pretty new 20' guitar cable that one of my dogs chewed in half. There is still about 18 feet of pristine cable left. Is there any reason I couldn't make patch cables using said guitar cable & some new G&H plugs?

Also, I've seen jackets on some sites. Are these necessary or are they just superfluous?

Lastly, is there a good one-stop-web-shop for Canare Cable and G&H Plugs? Like everything else in my on horse town, I have to get them mail order (U.S.)
