I have a Dunlop 105Q and love it, but if you dont mind taking up lots of space, go for the Ibanez Weeping Demon.

Great price too, at $100!

Oh yeah, lots of people have tried them. There are distinct tones for each of them.

Lots of Dunlop diehards, Morley Diehards, and Ibanez diehards (Snakeman)

Also, there is the EBS Wahone, EBS StanWah, older Dunlop versions, and a few Wilsons, among many others.

You're forgetting that Bootsy Wah, they're pretty nice, but in all honesty, just go out & try afew wahs (yes, I know it's hard because not the many shops (apart from really big ones) stock much in the way of bass wahs)

mine is still in good condition. i've had it for around six months. don't know if that's long or short to you, but mine is still in great condition. remember, it comes with distortion side as well, so it's pretty cool.

downside is changing what frequencies you want to emphasize, low, mid, hi, because there is an audible click when you change, but i doubt you'd change mid song...so it's not really a problem.

This gets my vote for a great sounding and versatile pedal.

robot factory meatwad

for the record, i really dont like foot controlled wah (much love for envelope filters though), but i found the meatwad to do this very very well. i wasnt in love with the envelope section of said pedal (i need super wet, and i still havent found that), but the abundance of knobs and whatnot make it very adjustable.

note: i have not tried the 105q or any of the "just foot wah" pedals, only envelope/autowah pedals with expression inputs, so i do not claim to be an expert, but to my ear, the meatwad was awesome for foot wah.

I've owned the Morley Duel bass, The Crybaby bass, and the SD Bootzilla Wah. I have stuck with the Bootzilla after years of playing with the first 2.

Wilson Effects wahs are awesome. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

I've owned well over a dozen different wahs to use with bass. Maybe over two dozen, I'm not sure. My advice would be to just save your time and money and go straight for a Wilson. You won't be disappointed.

105Q is both great for slap and also very versatile but esp with funk and prog rock is where it shines. I've got mine and couldn't be happier!

I've owned a 'lot' of Bass Wahs now (see profile for details)! One note, the Wilson didn't play well with my Active Bass with the vintage wiring so keep that in mind if your Bass has quite a Hot output. Otherwise it sounds awesome and Kevin Wilson was a pleasure to deal with!

My current favourite on the pedalboard is the new Morley T.M. Stevens Wah which is quite an improvement on the classic Dual-Bass wah. Also, had about an hour with the Stan-Wah last week and was really impressed too!

So, for Active Basses to avoid a nasty mid-hump/breakup, my 2 high recommendations are the Morley TMS and EBS Stan-Wah. Also, the Dunlop 105Q is great, just not the exact sound I'm aiming at currently.

Might still pick-up the Stan-Wah shortly..........

My guitarist gave me his Original Crybaby when he got his Digitech multi effects processor (which is pretty freakin awesome for people who say to stay away from Digitech multis) and it sounds pretty good on bass so if you're not too picky.

I've been wondering about that Morley T.M. Stevens wah, would there be any chance of some demos?
