Best way to "insert' tube fatness? Art Tube MP or Summit TD-100?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am happy with my amps which are a TC Classic 450 or an Acoustic Image.

I was just given an Art Tube MP and like the tube effect.

All I want is the tube fatness. Don't actually need a DI or preamp. Not at all wanting distortion or overdrive.

So what is the best system to just "insert" the tube quality into my signal?

Should I just get a high quality tube for the Art?

Or go more high end with the Summit?

$ 39.00 VS $ 450.00

Thanks

If you do a lot of recording the Summit or other tube pre might be worth it but just for live thru the amp it's hard to beat the Tube MP especially with a tasty tube replacement. My preference for bass has a NOS JAN tube in it.

This sounds great and most likely the way I will go. And even though it will be live only, I am willing to spend the extra money for higher quality sound. Obviously not worth it for 10%higher quality but if it was significant, I would go for it.
