I am making this topic to share my recent experience with the company Pewaves (NOT Planet Waves).
I purchased their JPT-10 Pedal Tuner about 6 months ago and it worked great for a while. The initial transaction was smooth. However, around 2-3 months ago it became very fidgety and wasn't picking up notes well and was sometimes muting my signal chain for no reason. A little over a month ago it performed terribly gig night, forcing me to take it out of the chain for the night and hope my bass stayed in tune. I have little knowledge about pedals so I emailed Paul, the owner about the problem. His response was: Hi Jason,
Sorry for your inconvenience. I will need to test the tuner further to figure out the
exact problem.
Please reply back with your shipping address and I'll mail you a new one ASAP.
Please return the old tuner back to me via the CHEAPEST possible way.
Your RMA is: ####### Please include a copy of this email with the tuner.
Thanks, Paul.
So two days later I sent the pedal via USPS Priority with a copy of the emails inside including my shipping address. I even sent him an additional email saying it would be fine for him to send mine back to me if he could figure out the problem, since I had it velcro'd and gave it some minor wear from use, which I figured might make it hard for him to sell being an online company.
It has been over a month, and 5 different emails to 3 different email addresses (The company's, his personal, and another supplied in the signature of his personal) and I do not have my tuner and have not even gotten a response. Not even any confirmation that he received it.
Should he ever get back to me I will update this topic. As of right now I do not advise doing business with Pewaves.
