Big Muff clone mods.

I'm planning on ordering a Muff clone kit from GGG.

My question is, would changing C1 and C13 from a 0.1uF to a 1uF make it a more bass friendly pedal, and what other mods would help achieve that goal?

I'm still new at this and kind of learning on the fly.

Honestly, I think that most bassists misunderstand why muffs make them disappear in the mix. It isn't a lack of bass. Big muffs put out a lot of bass (I'm not making this up, draw up a muff schematic in Spice and do a frequency analysis, the bass is definitely not the issue). The problem is the rather extreme mid scoop caused by the tone stack. Most of the boutique muff clones are awesome on bass because the include a mids control that will get rid of (or even reverse) that mid scoop. That is the main thing to do that makes muffs cut through on bass.

Yes, like chief said...add mids or change the tone stack. Your other option is to add a blend.
