| | | | Big muff DIY downscale - side effects?

Oke,... so i have the big muff pie from EHX... the REALLY big one. Im am having troubles with it fitting on my board (the size of a paper sheet. only using 3 pedals :P )
I already made a DIY standard input from an old neon-light connector. When i was working on this I noticed that the guts of the big muff are empty for like 80%. So basicly... im placing a really tiny effect on my pedalboard *guts are probably 1.5boss pedal* with a HUGE air gap in the stompbox.
Taking into account the pedal has no air vents and stuff...
Would it be possible to make a smaller stompbox for this pedal?
now im not talking in terms like, how to do it or how strong the box needs to be.
But more like, if in a smaller box, it wouldnt like 'overheat', explode, implode or something funny/scary? right?
so, would making a smaller stompbox make the effect behave different or overheat or something? |

Also, yes you can rehouse a Big Muff into a smaller enclosure. I have done this myself actually.
That's a Big Muff Pi NYC version on the far right middle row. I rehoused it in an enclosure from Radio Shack. If you do some searching, you'd find a lot of others who have done the same. |

I can get you some closeups if you need em tomorrow. Just FYI I had to bend the pots a little and seat the board in diagonally. I'll show ya what I mean tomorrow. |
