Big Muff Mod

Sign in to disble this ad
Just wanted to post what I've done with my NYC Big Muff pedal. The original case was huge, and the board inside was really tiny. I am an effects whore, so I wanted to make more room on my board so that I could cram even more stuff on there.
After some finagling and a little bit of creative thinking, I was able to fit the board into a much smaller box! I used a cheapo box from radio shack (what? it was the right height!) and had a friend of mine help me out with the drilling and soldering since I am not so hot at it. Replaced the 1/8" dc power jack with one with a standard boss jack from small bear electronics, and stuck in a super bright blue LED for good measure. I think the paint job came out pretty good, makes it look home-made.

It looks awesome

Now you should hack apart a bunch more of the EHX pedals!

Nice.

I did a russian big muff for Higgie. Rehouse to smaller enclosure, Boss 9V mod + lots of mods to the circuit to get a better tone, and better bass response. He's really happy with it. So was I

Infact you can see it in this photo in between the Mutron and Angler:

Yeah, I couldn't be happier with this pedal. Seriously. The Bass response is amazing. No clean blends over here!!!

Toasted did an amazing job.
